VANCOUVER ESPORTS ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF ORGANIZATION AND WEBSITE
Vancouver Esports Association is a non-profit esports organization growing and unifying the community
Vancouver, BC: Vancouver Esports Association (VEA) announces today the launch of its organization along with its website. VEA is a non-profit based in the Metro Vancouver area that functions as a central hub to connect gamers and unite the community. We are excited to collaborate with other community leaders and members of the industry to grow the Vancouver esports community.
While Vancouver is a hub for the video game industry with game studios like Electronic Arts, Phoenix Labs, and the Coalition and is home to a large gamer and content creator population, there is a lack of connection, involvement, and awareness within Vancouver of the esports community and industry. Along with that, most gamers have difficulties entering and finding belonging within the community itself, an issue that is a result of lack of resources and involvement to support community organizers to be more active. VEA intends to correct these issues by acting as a hub to connect the industry with the community in order to encourage further collaboration and engagement. As a result, we hope to develop Vancouver as a top esports city through the unification of the local esports industry and its stakeholders.
On the official launch of the organization, Executive director Derian Chow said, “I am excited to see what VEA can do as we bring together and grow Metro Vancouver esports together.”
